The college of law at the University of Baghdad discussed a master’s thesis in the criminal law of the student (Malak haqi Ismail), entitled with(criminal protection of the auditory environment – a comparative study), on Sunday, 2023/11/26 at the conference hall at the college.
The thesis aims at the importance of directing criminal policy scientifically, which leads to rationalizing criminal treatments and increasing their effectiveness in order to achieve a positive change in behavioral trends among individuals by directing awareness of the danger of auditory pollutants to public health.
The first chapter dealt with the concept of auditory pollution, the second chapter dealt with the legal framework for criminal protection from auditory pollution, and the third chapter dealt with the levels of criminal protection of the auditory environment.
The thesis came up with several recommendations, the most important of which is the need to remove public environmental crimes, especially reputational ones, from the range of criminal, administrative and civil offenses, and recognize them as full criminal, and criminal penalties in environmental crimes should focus on the element of deterrence through exorbitant fines and penalties negative to freedom in serious cases of environmental violations.
