Within the activities of the International Entrepreneurship Week, the private law at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, held a training workshop on an international arbitration competition in Arabic. The teaching session was chaired by (Dr. Lubna Abdul Hussein Issa, and delivered by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Haifa Mazher Falehi), and in the presence of students of the initial stages, on Sunday, 2023/11/19 at the model courtroom.
A training course was organized for the fifth edition of the International Commercial Arbitration competition, which is organized by the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration; during which students learned about the pleading mechanism and how to prepare regulations, noting that this competition includes many Arab countries; to compete in virtual arbitration cases in Arabic, simulating the reality of international commercial arbitration cases.
In this training course, the role of each team was clarified; each competing team will perform a real simulation of the role of the plaintiff and the defendant, by submitting written notes and oral arguments, in a virtual arbitration case, in front of a group of international arbitrators, which will enhance the practical dimension of the academic knowledge received by the student during his university trip.
These training courses have a great impact on the development of the student’s legal skills in commercial arbitration cases, and looking for the appropriate opportunity for Applied training and contact with practitioners and building bridges of communication with the most prominent experts in this field, these scientific activities give the student a milestone in the scientific and professional career.
