At the college of Law, University of Baghdad, the public law held a seminar on (provincial council elections), presented by a lecturer in the Public Law (Prof.Dr. Walid Marza Hamza), in the presence of college lecturers, staff and students, on Tuesday, 14/11/2023 at the conference hall at the college.
The seminar aims to raise the electoral awareness of the post and undergraduate students to emphasize the need for electoral participation as a proof of citizenship and the right to political participation guaranteed by the Constitution to all citizens.
The seminar focused on shedding light on the provisions and principles of the Third Amendment law to the law on elections of the House of Representatives, Provincial Councils and districts No. 12 of 2018 and how to implement its provisions from the electoral administration and citizens alike.
The seminar came up with several recommendations, the most important of which is the need for broad and genuine participation in popular elections, the need to adhere to the standards of integrity, transparency and appropriate selection when exercising the right to vote.
