The Women Empowerment unit held a seminar in cooperation with the leading National Center for Cancer Research entitled (Early detection of cervical cancer), the session was chaired by the official of the Women Empowerment unit Dr. Rabab Khalil Ibrahim and delivered by Asst.prof.Dr. Kwakib Najm al-Din Abdullah and (Baida Riad Badin), on Wednesday, 2023/11/08 at the model courtroom at the college.
The seminar aims to take all necessary precautions and educate about the necessary medical tests to protect women from cervical cancer and educate how to conduct self-examination and the Times of conducting those tests periodically early in order to prevent the infection of these diseases.
The seminar included several topics, the most important parts are the definition of the disease and its prevention, addressing the risk factors that may occur or cause the occurrence of this disease, the symptoms of tumors, periodic examinations, including ( clinical examination and Periscope ).
The seminar came up with several recommendations, including avoiding risk factors that increase the incidence of cervical cancer, the need to conduct an examination for women at the age of thirty-five and older at least once in a lifetime, the need to conduct an examination when there are signs indicating the possibility of contracting this disease, and when there is a history of the disease in the family.
posters concerning education about uterine cancer and how to prevent it were distributed to the attendees at the symposium, as well as wall posters for education about the Prevention of this disease were placed on the walls of the college.
