Congratulation

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, which falls on the first of May every year, the Dean of the College of Law at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Attia, presented Warmest congratulations and best wishes to all workers for success in their work on the professional and personal levels, stressing that workers are real wealth and the basis for a better future and reality, wishing them continued health and wellness.

Participation

At the invitation of the Francophone University Agency in the Middle East (AUF), the college of Law at the University of Baghdad participated in the meetings of the project  (Enhancing the access of vulnerable groups in the Middle East to law and right through the establishment of a network of university legal clinics) in the hall of the college of Law, Ain Shams University, Egypt .

  The Dean of the College (Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Attia) delivered a speech in the opening session on the development of university legal education, and the speech focused on moving from traditional legal education to teaching legal skills to students after studying the needs of the labor market.

  • On Tuesday corresponding to 05/02/2023, a Master’s thesis in the Public Law branch of the student (Sadiq Jawad Kazem) tagged (National Security Policy under the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq for the year 2005) was discussed, under the supervision of Professor Dr. (Ali Hadi Attia), in the conference hall of the college.
  • On Wednesday corresponding to 05/03/2023, a master’s thesis was discussed in the private law branch of the student (Dua Qassem Kazem) and tagged (the role of Islamic banks in financing and investment – a comparative study) under the supervision of Professor Dr. (Ali Fawzi Ibrahim), in the conference hall of the college .
  • On Thursday corresponding to 05/04/2023, a master’s thesis was discussed in the Public Law branch of the student (Jinan Abdul-Jabbar Najm) and tagged with (the duty of the administration to implement the provisions of the administrative judiciary in Iraq – a comparative study) and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. (Taghreed Muhammad Qaduri), In the conference hall of the college.
  • On Monday corresponding to 05/08/2023, a master’s thesis was discussed in the Public Law branch of the student (Marwa Abdel-Hussein Hamza) and tagged with (The advisory Role of the State Council in Settling Disputes of a Financial Nature in accordance with the provisions of Iraqi legislation) under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. (Ammar Fawzi Kazem ), on the conference hall of the college.
  • On Sunday, corresponding to 05/14/2023, a PH.D thesis was discussed in the private law branch of the student (Baidaa Abdul-Jabbar Hassouni) and tagged (delay in implementing the contractual obligation – a comparative study) under the supervision of Professor Dr. (Jalil Hassan Al-Saadi) in the conference hall of the college.
  • On Thursday, corresponding to 05/18/2023, a master’s thesis was discussed in the international law branch of the student (Miami Muhannad Issa) and tagged (the theory of joint use of outer space) and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. (Mahmoud Khalil Jaafar) in the conference hall of the college.

Seminars

  • On Wednesday 03/05/2023, the Legal Clinic and Restorative Justice Unit at the College of Law at the University of Baghdad held a scientific symposium entitled (The Role of the Legal Clinic in Supporting Targeted Groups), which was delivered by a lecturer in the Private Law Branch (Dr. Nada Abdul Kadhim Hussein), with the presence and participation A number of undergraduate and postgraduate students at the model courtroom in the college.
  • The Public Law Branch organized a symposium entitled (Brain-Based Education), on Sunday 07/05/2023. The symposium was chaired by (Professor Dr. Rasha Muhammad Jaafar) and delivered by the lecturer in the Public Law Branch (Huda Faeq Abdel Rahman). And in the presence of a number of lecturers and staff of college, it took place in the model courtroom in the college.
  • The Public Law Branch held a symposium entitled (The rule of not allocating revenues in the general budget and the exceptions contained therein), and the session was chaired by (Dr. Sura Harith Abdel Karim) and delivered by the lecturer in the Public Law Branch (Professor Dr. Ban Salah Abdel Qader Al-Salihi), And in the presence and participation of a number of faculty and staff of the college, on Monday 05/08/2023 in the model courtroom in the college.
  • The Criminal Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Baghdad organized a symposium entitled (The Function of Punishment in Islamic Law and Sharia), which was delivered by the lecturer in the Criminal Law Branch (Professor Kazem Abdullah Al-Shammari), and in the presence of a number of faculty and students of the college, on Tuesday 2023/ 05/23 on the conference hall in the college.
  • The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law at the University of Baghdad held a symposium entitled (Iraqi Intangible Cultural Heritage), which was delivered by the lecturer in the International Law Branch (Muhammad Ismail Jaafar), and in the presence of a number of faculty, staff and students of the college, on Wednesday 05/2023. /24 on a typical courtroom.
  • The Private Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Baghdad held a scientific symposium entitled (Compulsory Mediation). The symposium was chaired by Prof. Dr. (Akram Muhammad Hussain) and delivered by the lecturer in the Private Law Branch, Prof. Dr. (Haidar Falih Hassan), and in the presence of a number of faculty and staff of the college, on Thursday corresponding to 05/25/2023 at the conference hall in the college.

Versions

  • A new scientific book was published by Professor Dr. (Jalil Hassan Al-Saadi), Head of the Private Law Branch (co-authored) with (Dr. Lubna Al-Saidi) entitled (The Crisis of Private International Law in Artificial Intelligence Disputes) added to the Legal Library.
  • A new scientific book was published by Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Attia, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Baghdad, entitled (Al-Wajeez in the Constitutional Judiciary), in the framework of scientific efforts that aim to serve society and confront legal developments.In particular, the book deals with the essence of the constitutional judiciary and the mechanisms for bringing cases before it in light of the recent trends of the Federal Supreme Court and its counterpart, the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court.

Exams

  • Examinations for postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) for the second semester / first round started on Sunday 07/05/2023. Examinations took place in the Assyria and Babylon halls in the college, and for all its four branches, which are criminal law – international law – private law – public law.

The final exams for students of primary studies for the second semester / first round started, on Sunday 05/28/2023, which were supervised by  the Dean of the college of Law, Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Attia, accompanied by his scientific assistant, Prof. Dr. Hussein Abdullah Abdel-Ridha, and his assistant for administrative affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Harith Ali Ibrahim, ensuring the completion of the readiness of the examination halls and the provision of all the necessary supplies to perform the exams easily and smoothly, in addition to following up on the students’ affairs, in addition to reviewing the question models and their scientific content.

Workshops

  • The Legal Clinic Unit at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the International Republican Institute, organized a second workshop in continuation of the first workshop entitled (Negotiation), under the supervision of Dr. Nada Abdel-Kazem, the official of the Legal Unit in the Private Law Branch. It was delivered by (Lawyer Ahmed Abdel-Meguid) and (Lawyer Naseer Hussein Obaid), in the presence of a number of legal clinic students, on Thursday 11/05/2023 in the model courtroom in the college.
  • The Legal Clinic Unit at the College of Law at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the international organization (International Republican Institute), organized a third workshop in continuation of the first and second workshop entitled (Post-graduation). The workshop was organized under the supervision of the head of the legal clinic and restorative justice unit, (Dr. Nada Abdel-Kadhim Hussein) the teacher in the private law branch.

The lawyers of the international organization (International Republican Institute), the lawyer (Ahmed Abd al-Majeed) and the lawyer (Naseer Obaid Hussein) participated in the symposium, with the participation of the students of the legal clinic, on Monday 05/15/2023 in the model courtroom in the college.

  • he Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law at the University of Baghdad held a workshop entitled (The Federal Court and Response Control), which was delivered by a lecturer in the Public Law Branch (Dr. Sura Harith Abdul Karim), in the presence and participation of a number of college professors , on Tuesday 2023/ 05/23 On the model courtroom in the college.

Hosting

  • The College of Law at the University of Baghdad hosted a delegation from the National Bank of Iraq, which held a workshop related to the matter (salaries settlement) for college members and employees, and participated in presenting the workshop that was held on Thursday, 05/28/2023 in the model courtroom, each of Mr. (Abdullah Shali), Mrs. (Hadeel Riyad) and Mrs. (Rafel Muhammad), in the presence and participation of a number of college professors and staff of the college.
