The College of Law at the University of Baghdad organized the electronic symposium tagged (Education Quality Standards for Colleges of Law) on spreading the culture of program accreditation, which was held by the two professors in the Public Law Branch (Prof. Maha Bahjat Youins) and Prof. (Ban Salah Abdulkadir ) The members of the council of Improving the quality of education for law faculties in Iraq and in coordination with the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division represented by assistant Professor Zainab Razuki Shamikh), and under the supervision of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance represented by. Dr. Amer Muhammad Mahdi.
The symposium included two axes, the first dealt with the objectives of the educational program, and the second dealt with program management and quality assurance.
The objective of the symposium is to introduce the guide to program accreditation standards for colleges of law in Iraq, which was prepared by the Council for the Improvement of Education Quality for Colleges of Law formed under Ministerial Order No. S/7/5/1255 on March 25, 2019. The guide includes a seven-point scale to determine the extent to which the standards are applied or not or partially applied, the guide relied on eight criteria that could be based on self-evaluation for faculties of law.
The symposium resulted in a recommendation to start applying the standards with their elements and requirements mentioned in the guide, and to focus on providing and codifying the necessary information and documenting activities, events and decisions to reach as close as possible to the national program accreditation.
