The Psychological Counselling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled “Psychological Stress” on Tuesday, 13 October 2026. The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Huda Faiq Abdul Rahman, a faculty member in the Public Law Branch, at the college building.
The seminar addressed psychological stress as one of the defining features of contemporary life and an important topic addressed by psychological counseling and educational guidance. Psychological stress is no longer merely a passing feeling of discomfort or temporary tension; rather, it has become an experience that accompanies individuals throughout the various stages of their lives.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of understanding the nature of psychological stress, identifying its sources, and recognizing its impact on quality of life. This, in turn, contributes to achieving psychological stability, reducing the negative effects that individuals in society may experience, and promoting psychological and social balance.

The seminar concluded with several recommendations, most notably:

  1. Raising individuals’ self-awareness by identifying the factors that cause psychological and behavioral stress.
  2. Developing appropriate solutions to address problems across various aspects of life.
  3. Providing a safe space for dialogue and strengthening the sense of support and solidarity among members of society.
