Today, Saturday, July 2, 2022, the activities of the Second National Competition for the Virtual Court of International Humanitarian Law for the year 2022 were concluded, and after the strenuous scientific and practical efforts of the head of the College of Law team at the University of Baghdad (Prof. Mustafa Salem And the students ( Zainab Abdulsattar ) (Raneen Saeed) , (Jumana Mahdi), the team of the College of Law ranked first among the teams of the participating Iraqi universities, including Al-Nahrain, Al-Mustansiriya, Al-Iraqiya and others.
With this achievement, the team qualified for the Arab competition, which will take place at a later time.
It is noteworthy that the competition included several pleading rounds in a hypothetical case considered by the International Criminal Court within the topics of international humanitarian law to train students on the mechanisms of litigation and the substantive aspects of the facts of the case, in a way that contributes to refining and developing students’ legal skills within the framework of a professional experience that enhances the theoretical aspect in the scholastic subjects .
