The College of Law at the University of Baghdad is preparing to launch the Fourth Iraqi Forum on Constitutional Judiciary, organized jointly with the Federal Supreme Court. The Forum will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, at the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court in Baghdad, at 9:00 a.m.

The Forum will be held under the title: “Constitutional Justice of the Federal Supreme Court: Between Text, Application, and Jurisprudence,” on the occasion of two decades since the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq of 2005.

The Forum will address four main themes:

🔹 First Theme: The Development of the Jurisdictions and Procedures of the Federal Supreme Court.

🔹 Second Theme: The Role of the Federal Supreme Court in the Development of Iraq’s Democratic Experience.

🔹 Third Theme: Judicial Appropriateness in the Decisions of the Federal Supreme Court.

🔹 Fourth Theme: The Interpretative Jurisdiction of the Federal Supreme Court.

The Forum aims to deepen scholarly research on constitutional justice, highlight the experience of the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq, and discuss its jurisdictions, procedures, and roles in protecting rights and freedoms and developing the democratic experience. It will also examine issues related to judicial jurisprudence and the Court’s interpretative jurisdiction.

The Forum also provides an opportunity for academics, researchers, and postgraduate students to participate by submitting research papers and academic abstracts within the specified themes of the Forum.
