The official website of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the official website of the University of Baghdad have announced the introduction of an English-language Law program at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, starting from the 2026–2027 academic year.
It is noted that the College Council recommended adopting this initiative based on a comprehensive study outlining the courses to be taught, the admission mechanism, the criteria for selection, and the intended learning outcomes.
This interdisciplinary program will open new academic and professional opportunities for students, including local and international career prospects. It will also support postgraduate studies locally and internationally by preparing qualified students in the field of comparative law, in addition to creating new career pathways in law firms handling emerging legal matters, commercial arbitration, and other areas, both inside and outside Iraq.
It is also worth noting that the introduction of the English-language section builds on the success of the French-language section.
Accordingly, the Deanship of the College of Law invites students admitted to the first stage through the Centralized Admission channel who wish to join this distinguished program to register for the “English Section” so that their eligibility requirements can be reviewed.
